The Photo Above: This poor quality photo is the only known picture to exist of the home of Charles Leedom (1826-1912). The home stood on Chester Pike were the Leedom School now stands. Leedom was born in Philadelphia and made his fortune in the Pennslyvania Oil Fields in the 1860's. He moved to Ridley Township in the 1880's built this home and retired. His wife Sara Miller Leedom died in Lansdowne in 1928. The property was developed by their grandson Charles L. Andrews in the summer of 1941. All of the original streets are named for signers of the Declaration of Independence. Make sure to Sign or View our Guest Book!
